The father of John Burgar is unknown.   There were several Burgar who could have been his father, but it is not worth speculating as to who it was.

However, all the Burgar at this time in Dunrossness were nearly certainly descendants of George Burgar (born about 1630).  This George would thus be most likely the great-grandfather of John below.
