Quendale Estate records (Bruce Muniments Documents ) of 1712-1717 - Part 2.

Reference "Bruce of Simbister Muniments - Reference GD 144/7/1"  at the Scottish Record Office.

The accounts below are very difficult to understand, since they seem to include the rent that was being charged for croft and boat hire, as well as payment for the same.  This included selling butter, meal, fish, oil etcetera.  Because of the system of 'debt-bondage' the tenant was often owing money but sometimes was in credit.
