The table below shows the Burgher persons living in Lude, together with adjacent people in the list.

Number Parish Place FirstName Surname Status Letter Sex
802 Dunrossness Lud Robert Ollason     M

804 Dunrossness Lud Helen Bairnson     F
805 Dunrossness Lud John Burgher     M
806 Dunrossness Lud Helen Bairnson     F
807 Dunrossness Lud Adam Burgher   S M

George Burgher appears to be married to Helen Bairnson.  We believe that this George Burgher is the person who is an Officer of the court in the 1731-1734 Baillie Court of Dunrossness records.  He was married at the time and was 35 years old in 1734.  He was thus born in 1709.

In one Court record in 1734 George appears with John Burgher who was born in 1715 but was unmarried.  We think that probably George and John Burgher are brothers.  It would seem that John married sometime after 1834. Surprisingly they both marry a Helen Bairnson.  It would seem the Adam is most likely the son of John by his position in the list. However, he is possibly the son of George.

Possibly Adam was born soon after 1735, since he is included in the Communicants list.
